5 Things the Bible Teaches Us to Keep Secret
In today’s world, people share everything — their plans, dreams, struggles, and blessings. But the Bible teaches us that not everything should be announced. Some things are meant to be protected, prayed over, and kept between you and God. In this article, we will look at the 5 things God never meant us to share — not with friends, not with family, not even with the people we trust most.
- Never tell anyone your next move/vision
- Never tell anyone everything God told you in secret
- Never tell anyone your good deeds or sacrifices
- Never tell anyone your weaknesses
- Never tell anyone about your blessings
1. Never tell anyone - your next move/vision
When God gives us a vision, it’s not for public discussion; it’s for private preparation.
When God gives us a vision, it’s not for public discussion; it’s for private preparation.
For example; Joseph — Joseph learned this the hard way. The moment he shared his dream, his own brothers turned against him — not because he did anything wrong, but because they were jealous about his calling. That’s why God sometimes hides your plans — not to punish you, but to protect you.
2. Never tell anyone - everything God told you in secret
Think about Mary. When she was told she would carry Jesus, she didn’t try to prove it to others. The Bible says in Gospel of Luke 2:19 that she kept those things in her heart. Some blessings are like seeds — if you open them up too soon, they won’t grow. Guard what God whispers to you. Not every word is for the public. Some are meant just for you to pray about it in secret, not to advertise.
3.Never tell anyone - your good deeds or sacrifices
In Gospel of Matthew 6:3–4, Jesus teaches us to give without trying to get attention. When we look for praise from people, we may lose the reward God wants to give us. Sometimes people do good things but talk about them so others will notice. God doesn’t need you to prove you are good — He already sees your heart. So give quietly & Pray privately. What is done in secret may be unseen by people, but God sees it — and He will reward you in the right time.
4. Never tell anyone - your weaknesses
Jesus Christ did not tell everything to everyone. He had different levels of closeness, and some things He shared only with the Father. It’s good to be open, but be wise. Share your struggles with people who are mature and prayerful, not just available. Until God finishes healing your weaknesses, stay prayerful and let Him work in private.
5. Never tell anyone - about your blessings
When Jesus was born, the wise men were warned not to report back to Herod the Great. Some blessings are still growing and need protection. Not everything God gives you must be announced immediately. Your dreams and blessings are precious. Protect them. Move wisely. Speak carefully.
Summary -
Remeber, only God knows your heart and your thoughts. The enemy may guess based on what you say and do — but he cannot read your mind. Satan can understand only by;
- Observing our behavior
- Listening to our words — what we talk & share
- Notice patterns in our actions
That’s why you must be careful what you speak and share. Not every thought needs to be said out loud. Some things God tells you are meant to stay between you and Him. When He gives you a dream, warning, or direction, it’s not always for everyone to hear. When you Say — Some people may give opinions, mock it, doubt it, confuse you, can misguide or twist them. That’s why the Bible says in Proverbs 29:11, “A fool speaks everything he feels, but a wise person holds some things back.” Wisdom means knowing when to stay quiet, so...
- Instead of announcing everything, focus on preparing.
- Instead of explaining yourself to everyone, obey God. Move quietly. Pray sincerely.
There is a difference between a testimony and a wound. A testimony is something you share after God has healed you. A wound is something you protect while He is still healing you. If you open up your deeds, your weaknesses and blessings to the wrong people too soon, you may get hurt instead of help.
Let your success speak louder than your words when your wound will become a powerful testimony.
